UK5G Showcase wrap-up

Some images from our time up in Birmingham

This year we were exhibiting and speaking at the UK5G Showcase in Birmingham. This very well attended event provided us with the opportunity to meet with other 5G projects from around the country, share our learnings and insights on panel sessions and generally celebrate the successes of our multi award winning 5G research project. Here’s a small taster of what we got up to…

Our small but perfectly formed exhibition stand, providing information about the project as well as the wider Dorset Council progress with innovation and digital services.

We were honoured to be asked to chair both the Rural Places and International keynote during the conference part of the event. Dave Happy did a sterling job of guiding delegates through the various issues affecting rural connectivity on day 1, as well as bringing together speakers from Qualcomm and Rakuten Symphony for the International keynote on day 2. Colin Wood, Gary Littledyke and Tim Robertson also represented the project on the Rural Places, Health & Social Care and Forward Opportunities sessions respectively.

Julia Lopez MP, Minister of State for Media, Data, and Digital Infrastructure, put in an appearance on our stand and chatted with us about our work and the connectivity issues facing rural communities. Apparently her favourite county is Dorset!

Always time for some after hours networking and fun too!

(PS Dave won the collaboration award 😉 )
